I had a request from one of my YouTube viewers to make a video about stylish ceilings fans, but I decided to address it here instead. Stylish ceiling fans might sound like an oxymoron, but I do think the options are improving. Here’s a roundup of a few that I think look quite decent. As you can tell, I tend to prefer the 3-blade options over the 4 and 5 blade. I don’t like anything too ornate or fussy in a ceiling fan – I think simple is usually the best way to go. Because while these designs aren’t bad, my goal still wouldn’t be to make a ceiling fan a focal point.
This Entire Dining Room Costs Less Than $2000
I am on Facebook Marketplace a lot. Probably too much. I just never want to miss out on an amazing find! I’ll be honest though – I rarely buy anything. There are items I would get if the right one came along (still waiting on bar stools), but there isn’t much I really need at the moment. I do, however, see a lot of stuff I wish I could buy…
So, to scratch that itch, it’s fun to challenge myself to pull together an entire room furnished completely from my local Facebook Marketplace. (Well, I think it’s fun anyway.) Today that space is a dining room. I found these vintage dining chairs for a great price and they were my starting point. Apparently, these are late 90’s era. I don’t remember them, so can’t say what I thought of them in the 90’s, but I like them now. This room has a combination of midcentury modern, postmodern, and contemporary pieces – a great example of the style mixing I’m always talking about on YouTube. And the grand total? $1955 (and that’s in Canadian dollars!)
